Structure or No Structure?

As we are all aware, having a strict hierarchical system/structure worked in the early 1900s, but they are becoming more and more obsolete in the 21st century.

Matt Monge asked some interesting questions concerning the existence of structure in the organization. He is not advocating that every firm should get rid of it - what he recommends is that firms adjust to what they need and what structure would fit in the best.

Questions that he poses are "Are your employees empowered? If so, how EMPOWERED are they?" and "Do you have some sort of process and structure in place where employees can get their ideas heard?".

Some of these questions are good questions to consider if you are in the management position of an organization. The rest of the article can be found here.
