Apparently! Well, at
least according to the article I found in the UBC Counselling, Health, and
Wellness section. While it's written for UBC students (and catered towards
their lifestyle), I believe that a lot of the points in the article applies to
Kwantlen students as well. With finals right around the corner, I think there
are a lot of useful tips that can hopefully help students get their target
grade.
Here are the tips on
how you can sleep better:
- Get up the same time each morning
- Avoid naps
- Avoid caffeine, tobacco, marijuana, and alcohol before bed
- Go to sleep WHEN you feel sleepy
- Save your bedroom space for only the most relaxing activities (ie, no studying in your room)
- Exercise
Getting a good
night's sleep can improve your attentiveness and ability to retain new
information. In other words, it's better to sleep and relax than staying up the
night before your exam and cramming a semester's worth of information.
On the other hand, I
do know of some people who are exceptions to the case and work better by
cramming than relaxing. Whatever works for you, I guess?
