NY Rangers turn off Twitter to focus on Stanley Cup Playoffs; Blueshirts open Thursday vs. Senators at Garden

Hey Everyone,

It's that time of year...Stanley Cup Playoffs start today, So I thought I would tie in something we talked about in class which was social media and hockey.

The New York Rangers's players have decided to log off their Twitter accounts Tuesday night. On their final tweets to their fans they stated they will not be tweeting during the playoffs so that they can solely focus on the games at hand.  The New York Rangers have denied that they mandated the social media blackout.

The Article talks about how Ironic it is for a blackout to occur during these playoffs just days after the head coach stating that they have dealt with distractions very well over the course of the season. The New York Rangers this season have been apart of the HBO series 24/7 and were filmed leading up to the winter classic this year.

Check out the article and if you twitter follow some of the Ranger players.
