10 Businesses that started from a garage

Today I came across this article by Siobhain O’Reilly who describes ten major businesses that started from a garage and have made millions. I found this article really interesting because you would not believe that these businesses all started from someone garage and are now the pioneers in there industry.

The 10 business that Siobhain O’Reilly describes in this article are:

1.       Apple- Apple was started by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniaks, and Ronald Wayne in 1975 in Wozniaks garage.

2.       Amazon- Jeff Bezons started as a online book seller from his garage and has made this multi-million dollar business.

3.       Google- Google was made in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin from a rented garage

4.       Mattel- Mattel was made in 1940 by Ruth Handler

5.       Walt Disney- This large company started out in a small one car garage

6.       Microsoft- Bill Gates and Paul Allen launched Microsoft in 1975 while working out of a garage

7.       Hewlett Packard-  This company was established in 1939

8.       Dyson-  The vacuum giant was made in 1978

9.       Nike- As O’Reilly states this company was started from a trunk not a garage by Phil Knight

10.   Harley Davison- Harley Davison was established in 1901
