Get Noticed, and Get a Promotion

One of the main reasons that you are not being promoted is because you are not being noticed. If you want to be noticed you must make changes to your approach in the work force. Something that I used to do was let my work stand for itself… This doesn’t seem to work. There are so many other factors at play when being considered for a promotion. If you have never spoken up, and created a dialogue with you boss, they are less likely to think about you when it comes to a promotion.
In this interview with Joel Garfinkle, he discusses the THREE things you need to put yourself on the path to a promotion.
These three things are PVI.
·         Perception
Improving your perception means making the “right” image for yourself. Take control of how others in the organization see you.
·         Visibility
Increasing your visibility means making yourself known through out the organization. This means expanding beyond just your department and making sure all levels of management know who you are.
·         Influence
Use your influence. It doesn’t matter about your position or level of authority. Help to change and improve situations when you have power to do so.
