I found a great article that discusses potential rules for wireless providers. The CRTC (Canadian Radio Television Telecommunications) have been in talks with Rogers Communication, who have been backed by Telus Communications Corporation, both of whom are wireless providers, to reach out to the people of Canada for our opinions. Should there be regulations for wireless providers in multiple areas? To voice our opinion we must submit comments on paper or online by May 3rd.
“Consumer complaints to the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services more than doubled in 2010-11, compared to the previous year, and 62.3 per cent of complaints were related to wireless services. Most involved alleged billing errors and contract disputes” this shows how many people have issues with their wireless providers. The article has a list of possible rules which could protect wireless users. If select provinces have already started to implement consumer protection laws then is that not reason enough for there to a national regulation as well?
