KONY 2012- Communication Battles For Good

Hey guys,

I have attached at the bottom of the post a link to a youtube video called Kony 2012. Kony is War lord currently located in Africa who focuses on abducted and rapping young children into his child army. To be quite frank he's not a good guy. I could sit here and try to explain the video, but it will do such a better job of making it clear. The premise of the video is ability of communication in the world today. Everyone has power to make a difference by just sharing a video. We live in a world were communication is power and we can use it to advoacte change from thousands of miles away. Unlike past generations who have not been  heard we have the internet and globalization to tell the world what we care about.  I urge you to watch the whole video and promise you won't regret the time taken out of your day. Also share the video on all your social media streams.

Cheers

  2. Thank you for sharing this, Joshua. No doubt, this is a powerful message and the creators have done a tremendous job encouraging this going viral.

The message is strong, and there is already action being taken worldwide - various rallies are already planned for the coming months.

This blog post brings up some good criticisms, and points out some important things left out of the video. I think you will enjoy it:

The point is, that if we get rid of one Kony, another will rise. There are deeper questions to ask, and pressure needs to be put on people and groups other than Kony and the LRA.

The important things here really boils down to effective communication. If we want to not screw up, if we want to properly understand, and if we want our actions to have effective outcomes we must ask questions.

  4. Yeah thanks a lot my eyes have been opened since when i posted this !!! A lot of people are getting really emotionally about all this and kind of being Irrational. To be honest I posted this right after I watched the video with out any research done. As soon as I returned to this post I realized that I had made a mistake haha. Happy to see that your simply just trying to educate and are not freaking out like the rest of the world haha.
